Farmer Delivers Petition to Stop Republican Tariffs, Hold Rep. Zach Nunn Accountable

Creston, IA – Yesterday, farmer Dale Cline delivered a petition with over 100 signatures to Representative Zach Nunn’s office in Creston, urging him to stop supporting Republican tariffs that are driving up prices for families across the state and urging him to vote for a 3-year extension to the healthcare subsidies.

During the visit, Cline highlighted how tariffs have directly impacted the cost of groceries, household goods, and essential items in Nunn’s district. Cline shared personal stories and emphasized that rising prices are taking money directly out of Iowa households.

Dale Cline, a retired postal worker and farmer from Creston, shared his concerns about Nunn’s support of tariffs.

“It feels like everything is getting more and more expensive,” Cline said. “Farmers are feeling the tariffs in our input costs and when we go to sell our crop, there’s no winning. It feels like Nunn has turned his back on us, the everyday people that he is supposed to represent.”

The petition served as a strong reminder that elected officials are accountable to the people they serve. Rep. Nunn must stop rubberstamping Trump’s tariffs and start lowering costs for the people he represents.

Fairness for Iowa recently unveiled new ads as part of their seven-figure ad campaign targeting Rep. Nunn on his support of tariffs.
