NEW AD: Fairness for Iowa Targets Miller-Meeks and Hinson for Shutting the Government Down Instead of Lowering Healthcare Costs in New Radio Ad

“Miller-Meeks and Hinson both voted for huge Medicaid cuts, and voted against health care tax credits that a hundred thousand Iowans depend on”

Today, Fairness for Iowa launched a radio ad targeting Representatives Ashley Hinson and Mariannette Miller-Meeks voting to raise healthcare costs for Iowans.

In the ad, Brad, a business owner and former pastor in Walford who previously voted for Donald Trump, discusses the impact of rising prices because of tariffs and cuts to health care that Hinson and Miller-Meeks have voted for—going as far as shutting down the government instead of lowering healthcare costs.

Rep. Miller-Meeks recently called health care tax credits that keep insurance premiums low for around 100,000 Iowans a ‘bailout’ amidst the ongoing government shutdown. The GOP-controlled government shut down as a direct result of Republicans in Congress, including Reps. Hinson and Miller-Meeks’, refusal to extend health care tax credits.

The ad will air on radio in the Cedar Rapids media market – highlighting how Hinson and Miller-Meeks’ support of cost-raising tariffs and healthcare cuts will hurt hardworking Iowans at a time when families are already struggling to make ends meet. The ad is running at the same time as Fairness for Iowa’s seven-figure multimedia ad campaign calling out the Iowa representatives. for supporting tariffs that are raising prices for working Iowa families.

You can listen to the ad here.

Ad script:

My name’s Brad. I was a pastor for 20 years.  Now I run my own business in Walford..

My wife and I are blessed with four children. So, when prices go up … we feel it.

Honestly, it’s why I voted for Donald Trump . . .  but his tariffs are making our lives more expensive.

And our own representatives, Mariannette Miller-Meeks and Ashley Hinson, voted to support Trump’s tariffs.

They’re making health care more expensive too.  Miller-Meeks and Hinson both voted for huge Medicaid cuts, and voted against health care tax credits that a hundred thousand Iowans depend on … including our family.   They even shut down the government to get their way.

Our family’s health insurance could go up thousands of dollars.

Call Congresswomen Mariannette Miller-Meeks and Ashley Hinson at (202) 224-3121. Tell them to stop raising our costs.

We can’t afford to pay thousands more.
