New Ads Unveiled at Watch Party Call Out Rep. Nunn for Raising Iowans’ Costs
“Congressman Zach Nunn promised to lower costs. But he voted to support the tariffs that are raising prices”
Last night Iowans gathered at a watch party where Fairness for Iowa unveiled their new TV and digital ads, calling out Congressman Zach Nunn for supporting tariffs that are raising prices for working Iowa families. The ads feature Kinsey, a mother from Clive, who has felt the impact of rising costs and tariffs, which Congressman Nunn voted to support this year.
The timing of these ads is critical, as the country faces a government shutdown caused by Republicans’ refusal to keep healthcare costs low.
Michaelyn Mankel, an organizer with Food Water Watch Iowa, spoke at the event, highlighting the harm being done by tariffs and rising costs.
“This recent push for tariffs, championed by Congressman Nunn, is nothing short of a political trade war,” Mankel said. “These policies exacerbate the already-struggling lower and middle classes, who are forced to bear the brunt of increased costs for everyday essentials. The consequences are far-reaching, from heightened financial stress for families trying to make ends meet to the potential erosion of economic stability for small businesses and local communities.”
The ads air officially today on broadcast TV, digital, and streaming platforms in the Des Moines market—highlighting how Nunn’s votes are raising prices for working families at a time when many are already struggling to make ends meet. They are part of Fairness for Iowa’s ongoing seven-figure ad campaign.
