NEW BILLBOARDS: Fairness for Iowa targets Nunn and Miller-Meeks on tariffs costing jobs
Monday, Fairness for Iowa launched billboard ads in Iowa’s First and Third Congressional Districts, calling out Reps. Mariannette Miller-Meeks and Zach Nunn for their support of tariffs amid layoffs across the state. Later in the day, both Representatives voted to keep the 50% tariffs on Brazil.
In IA-03, the billboards feature Rep. Nunn with his quote, “Tariffs are winning,” next to the news headline “John Deere Cuts Jobs as Tariffs Hit.” In IA-01 Rep. Miller-Meeks’ voting history on tariffs is called out with the same news headline.
“Tariffs are certainly not winning, laid-off Iowans and those grappling with rising costs will tell you that,” Executive Director of Progress Iowa, Mazie Stilwell said. “It’s important that Iowans know what their representatives are supporting, especially if it is not in our best interest.”
The billboards are part of Fairness for Iowa’s seven-figure multimedia ad campaign calling out the Iowa Reps. for supporting tariffs that are raising prices for working Iowa families.
